Bigleaf Maple is a local Pacific Northwest varietal. Walk through Portland’s Forest Park, or hit the highways around Oregon and find it peppered throughout the landscape with its characteristically (extra) big leaves. The batch for this edition comes from logs salvaged from a felled tree just off Hawthorne Street here in SE Portland. These big, 24” logs were sawn, dried, then turned into this batch of book-matched cutting boards.

Sealed with pure tung oil; a durable, food-safe, and environmentally friendly finish that hardens deep in the wood fibers.
