A bit magic, a bit biology, the wholly unique texture of Birdseye Maple is caused by adverse growing conditions of some American Hard Maple trees, in which it sprouts many new buds in an attempt to grow. Such hardship yields a beautiful, rare lumber. These Birdseye Maple cutting boards are made from offcuts from our furniture making work.
