A quieter week around here got me thinking about some of last year's favorite projects, and I thought I'd share one with you today.
A bedroom set for L & D...
L reached out after having poured over our past work, requesting a revival of the Laurelhurst Bed Frame design and making a single nightstand to match. She'd had her space mapped perfectly and knew she wanted an extra tall headboard to fit. In the end, we switched it up, going with the more robust posts of The Willard Bed Frame to accommodate the monolithic 49" tall custom headboard, with a similarly tall Laurelhurst nightstand with thicker legs to match the scale. L also opted for antiqued-black drawer pulls instead of our typically requested brass or jet-black pulls, which I was skeptical of until I saw how they tied the whole room together.
One of the most fulfilling parts of making furniture is to see it installed, all styled up in its new home. In L's case, I was genuinely surprised to see how her vision of melding our Mid-Century Modern style with her Southwestern vibe matched so well.
Good eye L! And thanks for having the vision for our work.
